With the incredible amount of location data Verizon obtains, the Location Services department wanted to find a way to use the information to help industries like transportation, security, and finance—really, any company that relies on location or timing services—verify that crucial employees were where they needed to be.
The team set out to create a product that compared data from business-issued mobile devices to Verizon's (and other provider’s) cell tower data.
This would provide the employer with the ability to identify any GPS location spoofing and verify a device's accurate location.
We got to work building a lean canvas, user stories, product roadmap, marketing illustrations, wireframes, user flow diagrams, and ultimately, a prototype.
We also planned, built, and implemented demo booths for two of Verizon's Innovation Labs where this solution is on display for potential buyers and business partners.
The above demos show how to create different “policies” in which the company defines the parameters for a verification and the difference between a “verified” or “unverified” location vs a location where “spoofing” was detected.
